What for?

Children traveling in car seats sit with their legs dangling, which they cannot support anywhere. This causes discomfort and reduces the safety of the child in the seat!

If you want to feel what children feel when traveling in this way, sit, for example, on a bar chair and, without supporting your legs, let them hang freely. You only last a few minutes…
You will quickly feel a burning sensation in the lower part of the thighs and a strange feeling in the knees, as if the legs want to fall off … such a position is very unnatural for our joints, and even more dangerous for the developing and not yet formed joints of our children.
The pressure of the veins causes numbness in the legs – it’s the same feeling as when you hang curtains or wash windows with your hands up.

That’s why, in order to eliminate the negative effects of travel – we invented Feet-catchers – footrests for children’s car seats.

Footrests, supporting the child’s feet, help to eliminate the negative effects of travel. They increase the comfort of the child’s journey, which increases the safety of the child in the seat – why?

A child who is uncomfortable changes his position in the seat all the time looking for comfort, rests his legs on the driver’s seat, or anywhere else. Remember that only the correct sitting position of the child in the car seat guarantees mapping the dummy’s position during crash tests, which ensures safety, confirmed by tests.
Any other sitting position changes, sometimes significantly, the position of the seat belt in relation to the child’s body. A slack belt during sudden braking is not able to effectively hold the child in the seat. If the belt is positioned differently than recommended – because, for example, the child is sitting turned around or has slipped off the seat, it can cause significant injuries to the child by pressing on the child’s neck or stomach.

To sum up – the use of footrests has a positive effect on children’s health by reducing leg numbness and pressure on the veins and arteries in the legs. The footrests also help to maintain the correct sitting position of the child in the seat, minimizing the effects of potential road accidents (properly placed belts on the child’s body). By improving the child’s comfort, the safety of all passengers is also improved, because the drivers can fully focus on the road, and the journey is nice and pleasant. A quieter and smoother ride reduces fuel consumption, protecting the environment from excessive pollution.

For whom?

The foot catchers are designed for children from 6 years of age. They can be used until the child needs a car seat, i.e. when he turns 12 years old. The adjustment range allows you to smoothly change the height of the supports under the feet, depending on the child’s height. It is assumed that depending on the vehicle, seat and sofa geometry – the minimum height of the child should be about 90 – 95 cm.

How to mount?

Installation of the footrests involves hooking the hooks to the ISOFIX mounting points. The lower foot grips itself into the vehicle’s carpet. Thanks to this, the whole is very stable and children can stand on them.

Approvals and certificates

The OKIDAY footrest for children’s car seats has successfully passed crash tests (dynamic tests) and tests simulating the natural processes of many years of operation, which is why we are sure that it is a safe and durable product.

We fix the footrests in the vehicle, where every poorly secured element is a real threat to you and your family, which is why it is so important that what you put in the car is properly tested in accredited testing laboratories.

Why does a laboratory need to be accredited?
Let’s say you go to the hairdresser or make-up artist – you want to look crazy, but who should you choose? – you ask your friends and when making a decision you use their opinion …

In the case of tests, opinions alone are not enough. The quality of services provided by testing laboratories, the competence of their employees, control over equipment, etc. must be confirmed by qualified external auditors (e.g. PCA), otherwise there is no certainty that the test performed simulates the conditions that occur, for example, during a collision and the obtained results translate directly into the health and lives of passengers.
