Two mounting points for the footrest? Yep, totally necessary.
“Why does the footrest need to be attached to the floor too? Isn’t ISOFIX and just placing it on the floor enough?”
Well… it’s not enough.
Here’s why.
A car footrest isn’t just a place to rest feet
The footrest is there to help your child sit comfortably and safely while riding in the car.
When there’s nothing under their feet, kids start shifting around to feel stable. They squirm, tuck their legs, slide out of position… and that’s where the footrest comes in.
But — it only does its job if it stays put.
What happens when the footrest isn’t secured?
Picture this: your kid climbs into the car and steps on the footrest to get into their seat.
If that footrest isn’t firmly attached, it can slide. That’s not just annoying — it’s a real safety risk. Your kid could lose balance and fall.
Now imagine what happens during a drive. If you brake suddenly, that loose footrest turns into a flying object. Even a light item can hit with huge force during an accident.
That’s why at Okiday, we go for two secure mounting points:
Our car seat footrest has two separate ways to hold it firmly in place:
- ISOFIX hooks – These attach the footrest directly to the car body. Solid, stable, and locked down from the seat side.
- Floor attachment – Strong Velcro strips grip the car floor, so the footrest doesn’t budge even with sharp turns or hard braking.
Thanks to both systems, our footrest stays right where it should — under your kid’s feet.
What do you get with floor mounting?
- Safety – The footrest doesn’t slide or turn into a hazard while driving.
- Stability – Your child can safely step on it when getting in or out.
- Comfort – No annoying wobbles or shifting under little feet.
- Peace of mind – You’re not constantly fixing it after every drive or turn.
What a non-secured footrest can’t do:
Sure, it might look the same. Maybe it’s even cheaper.
But without proper mounting:
- You can’t safely let your child step on it.
- It might move while driving.
- You can’t count on it to work the way it’s supposed to.
A car footrest isn’t some extra gadget — it’s about comfort and safety for the whole ride.
And if it can be safer, more stable, and more comfortable…
why settle for anything less?
